Fun with Feathers
We have a huge range of clients who come in for feathers, from kids in high school to 40-year-olds. It’s such a fun thing, and people are going crazy for it!

Customers can choose to play it up with shades that would put a peacock to shame, or go natural with browns and whites.
The charge is $10 for one or three feathers for $25.00.

The feathers are completely natural and can be curled, flat-ironed, dried and styled like the rest of the hair. They stay in until they’re removed. Feathers are low-maintenance. Just be gentle and nice and use a brush instead of a comb. If you like the idea of hair bling, but might not be a feather person, we also offer hair tinsel, available in a wide range of colors, hair tinsel can provide a subtle hint of shimmer or a strong statement.

Hair tinsel or Bling are thin strands of tinsel tied or braided onto the top layer of the hair and run $5.00 each or six strands for $25.00.Which ever tickles your fancy?

The Retro Bob and Pixie with Fringe/Bangs

The bob and pixie cuts are back…reinterpreted and re-imagined.  The newest version is longer and sports a fringe or bangs. The bob is softer and more retro-inspired, having been infused with a 60s backcombing and a 70s soft, rounded shape.

Double Hair Knot

There's been a fixation of late for hair trends for long hair to have an effortless appeal to them: the double hair knot trend builds on that appeal. As simple as it sounds, this is a hair trend that can be worn in all seasons.

Woman’s Hair Colour
Colours to inspire you…with a twist. You see,  hair colours are about more than individual shades with picking a new shade for yourself being a trend in itself. And we're not talking about any change of tone, but a dramatic, head turning change. The boldness of the era from the 60’s and 70’s shout for bold hair colour as the newest trends. Striking Platinum Blondes, Glamorous Warm Brunettes, Fire Hot Red heads and Splashes of statement secondary tones of Purple, Orange and Pinks.

Men’s Trends

2011 focused on appearing as polished as possible, where nary a strand was out of place or grunge out with the 80’s influence. You’ll be happy to know that men’s hairstyles are about chilling out and keeping it easy, as in David Beckham’s newest hairstyle. That means you can look forward to working with any natural waves in your hair. Here we detail classic, office-appropriate versions of the styles that will rock and then, for guys who lead a more trend-driven lifestyle, we fill you in on how you can take each style in an edgier direction.

Classic: One way to keep your hair short while transitioning out of the meticulous hairstyles of last year is to adopt a hairstyle similar to Ryan Gosling’s. You’ll need to begin with a fairly conservative cut and a side part. The twist, however, is that your part need not be precise and rogue strands are encouraged. To achieve this look, work in a tiny dab of hair wax or pomade through the front of your hair, using your fingers to create a piecey effect.

Trendy Take: A trendier way to wear a front wave is to simply apply a little more hair product in order to achieve more of a wet look. This style pairs well with the dressy attire you might wear to restaurants, clubs or bars. Rather than mousse, you’ll want to use Strong Hold gel here, so run a squirt of it through your locks, concentrating more on the front section. Then, use a comb rather than your fingers to lift hair at the root and sweep it over to one side. Keep in mind that even if your wave doesn’t have as much height, you’ll still nail this men’s hairstyle for 2011.

Loose Boho Curly Hairstyle

Undefined, relaxed Boho curls are the hottest look in texture.
Let’s see how to get this beautiful hairstyle for the beach, for shopping

or even a night-out!
This is so easy, the
secret

is to use the right products and tools.

How to Get the Style

To get your curls off to the right start, towel-dry without combing or brushing your hair and be sure to use the right curl enhancer products  such as J-bev Crazy Curl or Prive Curl Activating Cream or any cream-based formulations are best.

Work the product with your fingers, concentrating it at the ends.

They key to this look is not styling your hair very much – just twist your hair as you do when you get nervous. If you have natural wave in your hair, it will take on that soft, Boho type of curl.

If you’ve got straight hair, towel-dry and apply product as above, then put hair into a large ponytail – or two pigtails if it’s super-thick – and instead of placing the elastic near the scalp, twist hair into one or two buns. Hit it with a diffuser or let it air-dry – you can even set it the night before and sleep on it!

Sexy Tousled Beachy Waves Made Easy

Tousled tresses – that beachy, surf girl look are very “IN,” because they combine modern and romantic. It’s super sexy and works for all ages. The trick is to have lost of wavy texture.

How to Get the Style

Part
damp hair down the middle and put it in two pigtails. Spray the tails with a medium hold hairspray such as Alfa Parf Hair spray or Prive Texture Spray and then divide each pigtail in half and coil the pieces together tightly to form a rope. Then secure the ends with elastics and pin them to your head, allowing your hair to air dry overnight and sleep on it.

If you don't have time to let your hair air dry completely in the coils, use a blow-dryer on a warm setting to speed up the process.
When hair is completely dry, take down the coils and flip your head over to loosen up the waves. Apply a  texturizing root lift product such as J-Bev Lift-up, to your roots for added volume, add a texture spray (Prive) and

work it down towards your ends.

BIG & SEXY HAIR

For the upcoming  new take on the big hair is about sexy volume rather

than the '80s big, solid helmet.
Glamorous celebrities have a longstanding relationship with volume on the red carpet – full, bouncy hair looks healthy and gives off a youthful and

 glamorous vibe.

The look should never resemble that of a newsreader look like you've just left the hair salon – it must be loose enough to run your fingers through, but fused with voluminous lengths. Learn how to give your hairstyle glamorous volume and bounce with the following tips for all hair lengths.

The secret lays in how you finish the style and how big you should take your hair: the type of volume you create must suit your face shape and hair texture, so that the finished hairstyle won't look too exaggerated.

The first step to get that glamorous volume is prepping the hair and using a volumizing shampoo/conditioner by Alfa Parf or Add Body by J-Bev, that will create a great base. Also, fine hair types need a protein based product such as Alfa Parf Middollo,  to make it fuller. Blow-drying is the easiest to get a stay-all-day 'do: section hair and starting at the nape, blow hair with a
round brush (choose its size according to how big you want it – the larger the barrel the bigger your hair will be).

Creating big sexy volume on short haircuts is best done by adding texture and lifting hair away from the head to give the illusion of width and height. An easy way to get it is to work in day-old hair and use a good texturizing product such as J bev Lift up or Prive Foaming Styler, to get that mussed-up look.
You can also grab a rat tail comb and a strong-hold hairspray such as Kenra Volume Spray, to take the front of your hair, and tease it into a poof.

Go as high as you dare!

A bouncy, voluminous blow-dry can also work on medium length hair styles. Create a rounded shape that looks best with a smooth and shiny finish, but it must be allowed to swing and move.

Long hairstyles

can look a little limp and flat if not styled correctly, so always use a volumizing shampoo and conditioner to encourage some lift and tease lightly at the crown after blow-drying. Another great way to fuse volume into long locks is to crimp the underneath layers to create a 'cushion' for the rest of the hair to sit on.

Makeup Tips!
There are two ways of wearing
makeup with big sexy hair: either keep it to a minimum, ensuring you skin look flawless, and let your luscious bouncy hairstyle make the statement, or go all out with a bright pop of color on the lips and enhanced smoldering eyes, ask for a make-up consultation to choose the right tones for you.

The Wispy Bun

How to Get the Look

Apply a thickening foam such as Prive Foam Styler or Alfa Parf Mousse to

damp roots and blow-dry

using your fingers to roughen up the hair texture.

Twist two-inch sections of hair around your finger and spritz with a texturizing spray (Prive) to enhance your natural wave and create a slept-in look.
Loosely
pull hair back and twist it into a bun in the center of the back of your head, securing with pins.
Pull a few pieces out of the bun from random spots, then use your finger tips to loosen up the hair around your face, rubbing the hair towards your face to give it a light, fluffy look.

Statement Bangs/Fringe

The bangs and fringe hairstyles are hotter than ever! Statement bangs are still in trends all designed to bring out your best features, whether they're side sweeping or strong, blunt and full.

Getting bangs cut in is the easiest way to update your current hairstyle without losing too much length and are suitable for long, mid-length or short hairstyles! Those with an oval face shape can rock any bangs and fringe styles, while square and round shaped faces should go for side-swept or asymmetric fringes.
Check out the hottest bangs and fringe hairstyles to get a clue on which will work best for you!

Blunt Bangs

A blunt-cut fringe will transform any mid-length or long hairstyle in seconds! Styled for smoothness, the fringe hits right under the brows. When styling blunt bangs, always blow-dry
hair concentrating on the fringe first – use a flat brush and direct air flow down to seal the cuticle and score some extra shine!

Angle Bangs

Update your straight hair by adding slightly choppy bangs that just dust the
eyebrows

. Have asymmetric bangs point cut so the ends get even more definition, then gently push them over to one side and pinch the ends with pomade.

Heavy Bangs

Thick bangs like these work best when they're styled straight and with super shine. To style, be sure to blow-out your fringe first, using a
paddle brush to pull them straight as your direct air flow down. Touch up with shine serum to enhance the glossy shine!
